Due to the #1502 trains mechanical issues train #1501 (6:15 am Seattle departure) and #1512 (7:15 am Tacoma departure) are canceled. CLEARED No Charges for Cop Who Crashed Into Man Prosecutors will not bring charges against an Arizona officer who crashed his police car into a suspect from behind in order to end a pursuit in February, according to a letter dated March 31. During a police chase for armed suspect Mario Valencia, Officer Michael Rapiejko drove his car onto a sidewalk and hit the man, dashcam footage released this week revealed. Valencia had allegedly committed a string of crimes in the area earlier that day. But a letter from Pima County attorney Barbara LaWall to the police chief concluded, "there is insufficient evidence to prove that Officer Rapiejko had the requisite criminal intent for aggravated assault." UNDER SCRUTINY Chicago Pays Slain Teen's Family $5M Chicago's City Council voted Wednesday to pay $5 million to the family of a black teen who was shot 16 times by an officer, but the city still refuses to release the dash-cam footage of the incident. Laquan McDonald, 17, was killed in October 2014 after police said he wielded a knife while officers followed him for several blocks. The unidentified officer who shot McDonald was put on desk duty but has not been charged. The video was also not shown to the aldermen before they approved the settlement. The younger Skelos was hired by the company to serve as a consultant while AbTech was awarded a stormwater-treatment contract in the Long Island Republican's Nassau County. COMMITTED MH370 Search to Double If Jet Not Found Authorities said Thursday the search area for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 will widen to include an additional 23,000 square miles in the Indian Ocean if the plane is not found by May. Malaysia, Australia, and China, the countries leading the effort, have combed 61 percent of the 23,000-square-mile search area and the remaining 39 percent will be completed by the end of May, said Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai. Liow added the two combined areas would cover 95 percent of the jetliner's flight path. Inexorable paradoxe : en France, le nombre de demandeurs d'emplois augmente... en même temps que les emplois à pourvoir. C'est une nouvelle fois le constat de Pôle emploi, qui publie ce jeudi midi sa vaste étude annuelle sur les «Besoins en main d'oeuvre»* en France.

En même temps que la courbe du chômage reste orientée à la hausse, il y a - depuis trois ans - toujours plus d'entreprises qui disent avoir besoin d'employés. En 2015, elles sont donc plus de 450.000 à déclarer avoir l'intention d'embaucher. Autrement dit, de 20% des entreprises françaises envisagent de recruter cette année. Un record.

Au total, les besoins de ces «recruteurs potentiels» représentent désormais... 1,74 million de postes ! Soit 2,3% de plus que l'année dernière, qui était déjà en rebond de 5,4% par rapport à 2013.

L'homme de nationalité polonaise interpellé après l'enlèvement et le meurtre mercredi à Calais de Chloé, neuf ans, a reconnu ce matin avoir violé et tué la fillette, selon des sources proches de l'enquête.

La direction a annoncé la suppression de 180 postes à la raffinerie de La Mède (Bouches-du-Rhône). Concrètement, 250 postes seront maintenus sur la plateforme sur un effectif de 430. Total va par ailleurs investir 200 millions d'euros sur ce site et 400 millions à Donges. L'activité de traitement du brut sera supprimée et une bio-raffinerie sera créée à la Mède. Ce projet n'est pas nouveau: confronté à des difficultés structurelles dans l'aval en France - où son raffinage a perdu 200 millions d'euros en 2014 -, le groupe y réfléchit depuis longtemps.
